Couples Therapy
At Sense of Self Counseling, we provide couples counseling tailored to meet your unique needs—whether you’re married, seeking premarital guidance, experiencing conflict, or simply looking to strengthen your connection.
We primarily use the Gottman Method, a research-based approach designed to help couples navigate conflict, deepen intimacy, and build a stronger foundation of friendship.
Your first few sessions will include a combination of individual and joint meetings to explore your relationship’s goals, strengths, and areas for growth. Our aim is to help you and your partner foster a more unified and fulfilling connection by enhancing self-regulation, improving communication, and developing effective conflict-resolution skills.
If you’re curious whether our approach fits you and your partner, we’d love to invite you to schedule a consultation.

Child-Therapy
During therapy and through play, we connect with children, finding ways that help them communicate their emotions and needs. Movement, music, sounds, art, play, and sandtray allow kids to connect their body sensations to their feelings. Therapy is a time for kids to increase their body awareness, self-regulation, emotional vocabulary, and self-efficacy.
Let’s meet so I can learn about your child's family dynamics and developmental history. Then, we collaborate to identify how to increase the parent-child- relationship bond.
The first session is conducted with caregivers only to complete appropriate documentation.
Parent consultation and parent-child or family sessions will be scheduled after 2-3 individual sessions with the child.
A consultation may help you to know if we are a good fit for your child!

Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
Under the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133 - effective January 1, 2022), health care providers need to provide clients or patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for therapeutic services. This Good Faith Estimate (GFE) shows the costs of items and services you can reasonably expect for your mental health care needs. You have the right to receive a GFE for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
The GFE does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You may experience additional charges if complications or exceptional circumstances occur. If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your GFE, you may dispute or appeal the bill.
You may contact your mental health care provider to let them know the billed charges are higher than the GFE. You may ask them to update the bill to match the GFE, negotiate the bill, or ask if financial assistance is available.
You can ask your mental health provider for a Good Faith Estimate GFE before scheduling an appointment.
A Good Faith Estimate is for your awareness only and does not require immediate financial commitment or payment.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
